JK.com Upgraded To CS 2.1 Beta 2
I’ve upgraded JK.com to the latest bits of CS…meaning CS2.1 Beta 2 . The new blog skins look great, however they suffer from lots of navigation issues, i.e. they aren’t consistent with the other (sitewide oriented) blog skins that shipped with CS2.0. This is something that must be... Read More...

Dammit Landis
From Sports Illustrated ( full article here ): Floyd Landis says he didn't do it -- didn't inject testosterone, didn't apply a testosterone patch to any part of his body. Floyd Landis just returned my call, and I asked him straight up: "Did you do it, bro?" He said, "No, c'mon man," in what would turn... Read More...

Forty Days And Forty Nights...All In About An Hour
Anyone who lives in the Georgia/South Carolina/North Carolina regions of the U.S. no doubt know that we got absolutely hammered Saturday night by storms (Charlotte was especially hard hit, as was the Raleigh area). I’ve seen some storms in my life, but nothing like this…I don’t have... Read More...

New Community Server Skin In The Works: Enter "Aero"
Fellow Community Server MVP Nick Brown has been busy pounding away at a new CS site skin called Aero (read his dev blog for updates), which is of course loosely based on its Vista namesake. Head over to his site to check it out in action (hint: click on the Customize tab on the far upper right). According... Read More...

I'm Thinking About Buying An Electric Scooter
Gas prices are soaring (and yes, before any European readers comment I do realize that gas in Europe is 3x as much as it is here in The Colonies), insurance is ridiculous given how rarely I used to drive, and I usually don’t venture more than 5–10 miles from my house anyways. The one I’m... Read More...

CS Tidbits #16: Add A Mirrored Blog Screencast
Today's tidbit is a bit of a deviation from my previous tidbit posts in that I'm doing a demo via a screencast (I'm taking a cue from J-O Eriksson ). I've posted about the new blog mirroring feature in CS2.1 numerous times, and now that beta 1 has been released I figured it was time to... Read More...

Migration To Community Server 2.1 Complete
The migration of JK.com to Community Server 2.1 is complete (still a few little issues to iron out, mainly related to CSS stuff plus a couple of controls to write). It was by far the easiest CS upgrade to date, had minimal downtime and only one error, which of course was caused by me and not CS itself... Read More...

Upgrading to Community Server 2.1 -- Excuse The Mess
While I was going to hold off on updating JK.com to CS2.1 when it RTM’d, I’ve changed my mind. There are enough compelling new features in 2.1 to make the move with the latest beta 1 drop worth while, including: Full support for running on ASP.NET 2.0 out of the box (no more medium trust...
